"Time for Medina" - The Campaign for a Downtown Street Clock
Many communities around the world, large and small, create a distinctive
landmark with the installation of a street clock. A group of community organizations, including MHS Class of '66, Medina Business
Association, Orleans Renaissance Group and the Sandstone Society, have
established a goal to place a four-dial, 19th century design clock at the center of
Medina where it will be a prominent feature that compliments our historic
downtown buildings.
Your donation will be an important contribution to making this Medina street
clock a reality. Businesses and community groups are encouraged to pool
contributions from their employees and members in reaching goals in the
categories below.
To make a donation, download the application or visit our Box Office where you can donate using Paypal. For those who will receive special recognition in the form of an engraved brick, block or plaque, we will contact you directly regarding the text for engraving.
Support our efforts by purchasing a Medina Coffee Mug. Available at our online Box Office, the Book Shoppe and the Candle Nook, both on Main St., Medina.
The historic sanctuary of St. Mary's Church has played
host to many magnificent community concerts throughout
the years– the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Genesee
Symphony Orchestra, and the renowned Medina High School
A'Capella Choir among them.
During the 1960's, the pipe organ fell silent; a victim of
disrepair. Most of the original 1913 Tellers-Summerhoff
organ is long gone, but soon the sanctuary will be home to a
restored three-manual, 31 rank 1890 Barckhoff instrument.
For the first time in nearly fifty years the organ has begun to
speak again, but we need your help to finish the job!
The Orleans Renaissance Group is proud to help facilitate
this historic restoration project that will benefit the entire
community for generations to come. We are very excited
about the concert possibilities that this instrument will bring.
Our goal is $15,000. Read the Pipe Organ Restoration Article, April 2010 [will open PDF document in new window]. To make a tax deductible donation to
this historic restoration project, make donations payable to:
